Expertise

Stolz is the product center of the Desmet Ballestra Group in the field of solids handling and animal feed technologies. Stolz is developing all technologies in this field and gives support to the Desmet Ballestra companies all over the world.

Expertise, talent, enthusiasm, availability, professionalism and reputation of over 100 engineers and technicians are placed at the disposal of our clients, for designing and field testing new techniques and processes, adapting existing equipment, devising tailor-made machines and anticipating new constraints.

Throughout its existence, Stolz has succeeded in associating itself with a number of prestigious names in each area of competence, culminating today in a highly coherent group that has become the unchallenged leader in the world for the supply of equipment to the agrifood industry in general.



Purchasing

The tasks that the Puchasing department at STOLZ carries out include ensuring the supplies necessary for the production of high quality materials, manufactured in time with a price within the budget and specifications required. These objectives are attained by working every day to improve our sources of supply, reliability and monitoring our suppliers, audits, technical and commecial optimisation in co-operation with our partners.

The purchasing department is also at the front line for adapting to globalisation and finding suitable contractors to work on our projects whether in France or the other side of the world.

The result is an overall improvment in quality and competitiveness which reflects our commitment to our clients.



Quality

The quality control department aims to develop a quality culture at the heart of the company. It initiates and leads the company’s approach to quality control. It helps organise and assist different teams with their consideration of and actions regarding improving quality. It guarantees and ensures that procedures are respected and maintained. The department also has the permanent and systematic task of identifying potential improvments and possible malfunctions, sources to prompt corrective and presentative actions contributing to the continuous improvment of the way our company works and the quality of its services.



Manufacturing engineering

The manufacturing engineering department provides the link between our chargé d’affaire and our production sites, as well as acting as an interface with our sub-contractors. It guarantees the creation and maintenance of ranges of technical data bases, terms, and manufacturing plants. The department also provides daily stock management, and activates requests for renewal of stock required for production purposes, it is backed-up by a production management system used by all the different actors in the company.

Its daily objective is to respect the deadline requested by the client. To achieve this, we have a team of 8 people who are responsible for looking after the orders.

The « Assembly Service » Team is both dynamic and experienced,
and their motto is : competence, high quality work well done,

respecting deadlines in order to satisfy our clients to our best ability.

Our sub-contractors have been selected according to our own criteria and are overseen by STOLZ supervisors.

Obviously, the question of security is just also extremely important, and as we are particularly vigilant concerning this issue, we have regular training sessions.

Start-up is of course our responsability and the performance tests are carried out to the client’s satisfaction.



Factory, Production Tool

The factory at Wailly-Beaucamp employs around 200 people working in the manufacturing engineering, production, dispatch and maintenance departments, attached to the construction of our products and respecting quality, deadlines and budgets.

We use the following means of implementation :

  • Plasma cutting and Flame cutting
  • Digitally controlled stamping
  • Digitally controlled folding using presses
  • Semi-automated welding MIG-MAG
  • Cleaning and painting conveying chain

and of course, the highest level of professionalism of all involved.





Logistics and Transport

Since STOLZ was created, it has continued developing its presence on 5 continents and supporting our clients through globalisation. Our logistics department which is situated within our production site, has just one main objective : satisfying our clients.

This willingness to please comes from our determination to respect our commitments in terms of delivery deadlines whilst taking economic imperatives of the market into consideration. We also use our International Business knowledge to help support our clients right up until they receive the material.
